Migrating from TV to online

On Tuesday we watched the new TV show "Talkin' 'Bout Your Generation" on Network Ten. The show was rather funny and all, some great ideas. But the biggest surprise came at the end and was very subtle: there were no credits shown at the end - no information about the names of the host, the generals, the guests, the producers, the writers etc. Instead, there was a one-liner: Credits can be viewed online . Wow! This to me is one of the biggest indicators that we are mirgrating from TV to online. Online, such a note would be accompanied by a link and if you are keen you can click on it. Easy enough! But on TV...?

This is fantastic, since credits are entirely superfluous to anyone outside the production industry (i.e. 99.9% of audiences). With shows running twitter feeds, Gruen letting you create commercials on their website and now credits only available online, we're seeing a rapid convergence of old and new media.

I wonder how cast and crew felt about it?

Innovation on TV - who would have thought that can still happen. Online does push some buttons there!

TV's buttons got pushed and then some by Hulu's hilarious Superbowl TV ad.

Irony and logic commingle when online video steals audiences from TV by advertising there. Hulu don't even have a marketing department!
